| | Why Choose Mercer-Bucks Orthopaedics | | | | Our group’s efforts to meet our community’s orthopaedic needs are extensive and diverse. | | We believe in three key principles, which have shaped our company clinically and operationally. | We call these, “The MBO 3 A’s of Success”: Accessibility, Availability, and Affordability. They represent our strong commitment to the people of our community. | Accessibility We have three locations, providing patients easier access. Annually, we service over 16,000 patients through 50,000 patient encounters. We contribute our fair share to our community’s uninsured population through clinic sessions at Mercer Medical Center and Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. Our physicians and clinical staff are a phone call away. 24/7, if you need us, you can reach us. | Availability We accommodate emergency patient care either the same day or within 24 hours of initial phone contact. Our offices are typically staffed by one to two physicians and one or two physician assistants, five days per week. We cover three hospitals in our region: Mercer Medical Center, RWJ – Hamilton and St. Mary’s Medical Center in Newtown, PA. | Affordability Consistently, we look towards the least expensive and yet the most effective way to care for our patient needs. From diagnostic, to surgical and finally to rehab services, we strive to get our patients back to their normal life styles after an injury. Employee injuries are given priority, recognizing the importance of initiation of care and an employee's ability to render limited services to their employer. |
| As a community group, we provide orthopaedic care to our friends and neighbors and we are as concerned about their healthcare costs as we are about ours. We designed our services to be convenient, comprehensive, and compassionate. This commitment is represented by our daily actions to care for our fellow citizens in the same manner we wish to be cared for by others. | | Comprehensive access & delivery of related services | | Most of our physicians are fellowship trained, including recently arrived associates trained in spine and rehabilitation. By increasing our diagnostic and surgery specialties we increase efficiencies in caring for patients, reducing costs and getting people to resuming their normal life styles faster. To increase efficiency, and reduce health care costs, we created an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) at our main offices in Lawrenceville. Caring for patients faster and at a lower cost per procedure underscores our commitment to delivering high quality, cost-effective orthopaedic care. We offer physical therapy services, at two of our office locations, benefiting patient recovery through the close cooperation between our physicians and therapists. Our program’s uniqueness, in addition to the close association between our therapists and our physicians, is continuity of care. Each patient works with a single therapist throughout the duration of their rehab program. This continuity promotes faster patient rehabilitation, further reducing health care costs. Diagnostic X-ray services are available at all office sites, expediting diagnosis and creating efficiencies in the patient treatment process. We offer Bone Densitometry as a diagnostic test, facilitating the prevention of bone fractures and related quality of life conditions. Patient access, scheduling and physician interpretation are expedited, further reducing health care costs. We offer EMG services to further enhance patient care and attend to our patient needs expeditiously. can be serviced within a few days. Bracing and splinting supplies are also available in all of our offices. Our clinical staff applies proper fitting techniques to assist patients towards proper recovery. Compared to pharmacy dispensing, our program is far more valuable, yet costs less. MRI services provided by Radiology Affiliates Imaging render quicker access and convenience to our patients. Again, the proximity of this service creates efficiencies and reduces health care costs. |
