Greenstick Fracture
A Greenstick Fracture is a simple fracture in which one side of the bone is broken while the opposite side is only bent. The name comes from the appearance of the fracture, which resembles a break in a green tree branch. In greenstick fractures, the ends of the fractured bone are unlikely to displace because part of the bone is still intact.
Greenstick fractures occur most often in children because their bones are not as brittle as adults. Treatment is casting. Greenstick fractures may heal faster than other fractures.
